We are
a part of the Society for Creative Anachronism Inc. (SCA), an international
non-profit educational organization devoted to the study and re-creation
of the Middle Ages and Renaissance, encompassing 600-1600 C.E. Learn

Thistle was
founded in 1978. We are located in the
Barony of Brendoken in
Oaken Region
of the Middle
Kingdom. Our holdings encompass Medina and Wayne counties in the
state of Ohio.

Summer Calendar |

June
Friday, June 5th- Instead of regular meetings we are
participating in a demo at "First Friday" in downtown Canton. The
SCA demo will be located at Kresge Green Space between 3rd and 4th
St on Market St North. Time 7-11 PM. Feel free to come and leave as
you wish. Email us if you want to meet at Living Water Church and
carpool together.
Wednesday, June 24th- Gathering at Gabe Baum's (Jason and
Shannon Nussbaum) house at 6:30. 619 S Kohler Rd, Orrville OH.
Campfire weather permitting. Bring munchies and any adult beverages
you wish.We will provide hot dogs and soft drinks. Tentative plans
for discussion of brewing and vintner practices. Please email for
directions if needed.

Friday, July 3- Meeting at Living Water church 6:30.
Rapier practice to follow. We may go see local fireworks
display for those who are not participating in rapier practice.
Wednesday, July 22- TBA- We may cancel this meeting due to
Penssic prep unless anyone has objections or anyone has pressing
business that needs discussed.

| MEMBERSHIP
MEETINGS: The Wednesday meetings
are held at the Wadsworth Library Public Library, 132 Broad
Street, Wadsworth OH. These meetings includes workshops, dance practice, demos, and
other activities.

DIRECTIONS:
To Wadsworth Library:
From Medina: Take your best route to State
Route 224 and US 76. Head east to Wadsworth/ SR 94 exit. Turn right
off of ramp. See “From SR 224” below.
From Wooster:
Take State Route 585 east through Smithville. Continue about 7 miles
to State Route 57. Turn left on 57, going north. Continue
approximately 7 miles to SR 224 and U.S. 76, go east. Take next
exit, SR 94/Wadsworth. Turn right off ramp. See “From SR 224”
below.
From Akron / Canton: Take your best route to
SR 21. Go west on SR 224/US 76. Take SR 94/Wadsworth exit. Turn left
off of ramp. See “From SR 224” below.
From SR 224:
SR 94 becomes High Street. Continue through residential area to
Wadsworth’s “square”. College Street will be on your right; Broad
Street on left. Turn left on Broad Street. If Broad Street becomes
Main Street, you have gone too far. Watch for Library on left, about
two buildings up from square. Turn left on street just past Library.
Parking lot will be on your right. |
